ABOUT US
Underdog Kennels has been locally family owned and operated since its inception in 2014.
Rob Cottingham worked in sales leadership for Fortune 150 companies for over 20 years but grew tired of working in Corporate America. He wanted to do something more meaningful and enjoyable. He had been a consumer of overnight dog boarding / doggy daycare services for over 20 years with his own dogs and thought he could add something unique to the industry by improving the customer experience and adding VIP Concierge Services.
Rob’s dogs had always been his children and he believed every dog is special and deserves to be treated like family. Rob started Underdog Kennels in the fall of 2014 to do just that.
Owners Rob Cottingham and his wife, Nikki, work in the facility on a regular basis overseeing operations and interacting with our furry guests and their owners. They are the proud parents of one human son and 2 furry ones: a Cavapoo named Indiana Bones and a rescue from Ukraine named Bear, who is your traditional Heinz 57 variety classic dog.
In 2023, they purchased 2 ½ acres of land in McKinney, TX and are in the process of building and opening their second location.
“We love what we do! We have the best staff in the industry and we’re blessed to work with dogs every day!”
